Born in Germany, doesn’t panic when it’s organic, with more interests than you can count on two hands, can’t help but organize.
When I was 15 years old I discovered, thanks to Myspace, a cultural association in Germany that supported subculture and emerging artists and organized a yearly festival. This was the beginning with no end. I became part of the organisation and since then I have been active and deeply connected with all things culture. Until today I am working with and supporting creative communities in several ways.
I had studies History of Arts and the German Language when I decided to travel along the Portuguese coast in 2015. I got stuck in Lisbon (in the best way possible) and decided to stay for 6 months. It has been 7 years now and in the meantime, I exchanged the city life for the green valleys of Central Portugal.
During those 7 years, I worked for several companies, from hospitality, booking management, service and as a personal assistant and also started to revive my art projects.
Simultaneously I continued to work with cultural NGOs and communities and have been organising regular cultural markets in Lisbon and co-founded Matéria Crua, whilst being a team lead at Arroz Estúdios.
In 2021 I dove into the world of web3 and its infinite possibilities – and went down the rabbit hole. The entry into web3 has opened my eyes and mind. I’ve seen a lot of empty hype, supposedly meaningful projects, and intentions – but I preferably focus on what this construct can enable and how it can affect society in a positive way, outside of the speculative aspect. I can’t describe it in a different way other than that the interconnectivity of things just started to make sense and it kickstarted a never stopping engine in my head.
I co-founded muti, a collective, association, and DAO that is experimenting with the tools of web3 in an innovative and tangible way to empower creatives. This sounds like one of the usual web3 sentences with a vague or no meaning. But what muti does, actually has an impact. The DAO provides stipends and educational sessions and organizes physical events and residencies where artists are free to create, connect and learn. I know I am biased but I truly believe in it and it is a project very dear to my heart.
Even though not coming from a technical background, I have been able to learn, experiment and gain knowledge in the fast-paced environment and supported several DAOs and entities in the last 2 years to get their web3 journey started. Because not knowing today doesn’t mean that you can’t learn it until tomorrow. And when working with humans, you need more than just code.
I have also been working as a cultural producer for artistic residencies and events and generally wish I would need less sleep and could just absorb even more.
